I was raised a Disney kid from way back in the day when Walt appeared on TV every Sunday night at 7 pm in The Wonderful World of Disney. Been to the parks a million times. Seen all the movies. And over the years, a few of the songs have stuck with me. As they probably have with you. Anyway, here are my Top Five Six All Time Disney movie songs.
It’s freaking Donnie Osmond. How can you go wrong? Besides, I’m the father of daughters and Mulan is the kind of female Disney character that I wholeheartedly endorse.
Yes, it’s kind of weird to have an Aladdin song in here that doesn’t star the voice of Robin Williams or Peabo Bryson, but I like the energy of this song. And who doesn’t love a singing street rat?
How can you not love a song that includes the line, “I’m especially good at expectorating!” – ? You can’t.
Did you know that in 1991 Peggy Lee sued Disney for violation of a contract from 1952? She won. And I’m glad she did because it meant that my kids get to hear this great 1:30 song.
This was the last movie that Walt Disney oversaw, and the first one I remember ever seeing in the movie theater. My ringtone is the trumpet solo (2:37). My Twitter bio even pays tribute to this movie. The core concept of this song has stayed with me my whole life – the secret to happiness is appreciating the stuff right around you.
My daughters insisted.

I was getting concerned scrolling down and not finding “Bear Necessities,” Luckily, there it was in the right spot.
