This post is dedicated to everyone who has ever thanked anyone for an RT (retweet.) I used to do it, but don’t anymore. Here’s why – 1) Clutter. I talk enough here for most streams. 2) I don’t understand why people thank others for passing along information. I’m a fairly nice guy. So part of me wants to follow the general rules of etiquette and do the polite thing. After all, I’m a writer. It’s my nature to reciprocate (see…

Wow. Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints. As a former season-ticket holder, during the worst season in team history, I’m very happy to see the Gold and Black win it all. And it was a great game to boot. But Sunday night, there were even more pressing issues at hand – namely, the airing of Super Bowl commercials. Since I was a kid, the ads were always an important part of the game. Sometimes more important.  As for last night’s…

On the one hand we’re probably watching the greatest QB in the history of football in Peyton Manning. Don’t get me wrong, I hate the guy. But my head says Indianapolis wins Sunday, despite the banged up defense.  On the other hand, the Saints are capable of scoring 35 on anybody and their defense is manned by ball hawks, even though they keep talking about how IF they get to Manning enough…(not when.)  In 1980, we lived in Baton Rouge…

If you’re a vulture who thinks that bypassing this vetting process and going directly to the client is a good…

The water main out front is busted again. Orange machines and people in orange vests and hardhats converge on the street. I am on my way to a meeting. I start the car and Jimmy Eat World drowns out the machines behind me. I backup, park, close the gate, get back in the car, reverse to the edge of the driveway and then input my mileage on the phone. An email comes up. I open it, read it and reply…
