As the father of two daughters, and their only male influence in life, there are times when I feel like I’ve got to just come right out and give it to them straight. That those who are bloodthirstier, eat better. That this can’t be all fun and games. That life is hard. My daughters disagree.

I woke up this morning excited about the prospect of a brand new day. I grabbed the kids and we raced to the mall so I could get my (reserved) iPhone4. We arrived at 10 and the (reserved) line wrapped around the corner, down the hall, past the restrooms and the parking exit, into the very bowels of the mall…then outside into the steaming sunlight…back inside to another utility corridor, and finally emptying back into the mall near a place…
